In September we had a delegation of citizens from Parma visit Stockton, lead by Dr. Michele Speroni. Dr. Speroni has been working with Parma, Italy’s Chair, Diana Lowery, creating successful exchanges for the last 25 years, in sports, film, trade shows, tourism, culinary, law, music, fashion and more.

A big day at the University of Pacific! The new accord was signed between the University of Pacific and the University of Parma. This accord recognizes the Stockton Sister Cities Association’s history of establishing the beginning of the first accord between both universities in 1998. The future is bright for more Parma and Stockton’s university exchange projects. A beautiful reception was hosted by the University of Pacific.

The Italian delegation enjoyed a lovely hosted wine tasting, thanks to Oak Farm Vineyards and lunch courtesy of Gian’s Deli. A beautiful afternoon was shared in our local warm vineyard sun.

As part of a week of activities called “Parma Comes To Stockton” Trade Show, Chair Lowery of the Stockton Sister Cities Association, Provincia di Parma, Teatro Reggio, Parma, the University of Pacific and the Stockton Opera Association worked together presenting an “Evening of Italian Music” at Faye Spanos Theater.
Our Italian Sister City flew, from Parma, two amazing opera singers from Teatro Reggio for the event.
